MCKINLEY: Welcome back to Infoflow, Blazers. Today is Friday, November 18th. I’m MCKINLEY
NOLAN: And I’m NOLAN. Physicians from three DC hospitals stepped out to protest working conditions as many hospitals are overrun with flu and Covid patients. These young doctors have had to pick up much of the slack from other staff shortages as well, putting immense amounts of stress on them as they learn. 
MCKINLEY: A bill to protect gay marriage has cleared an important step to passing in the Senate. While the final bill likely won’t be voted on until after Thanksgiving, the bipartisan support in both the House and Senate gives it a good chance to pass. 
NOLAN: The world population reached 8 billion on Tuesday, growing by 1 billion in the last dozen years. The UN expects the world to grow to 10 billion people in the next 60 years, while India is expected to pass China as the most populous country as soon as next year.

ZAKI: Hi Blazers! My name is ZakiLEE: And I’m LeeZAKI: We’re members of SGA’s unity committee. We are holding a merch design competition from November 18th to November 28th. We want all talented artists and people with great merch ideas to show their amazing design skills. Your entries should be original, creative, and impressive.LEE: In order for your design to be accepted, it must be MBHS themed and include our school colors. Prizes will be given to the competition winners, however all students who submit a design will receive 2 SSL hours for their hard work. The winners will also have a chance to receive free blair merch.ZAKI: Submit your designs via a google form found on the SGA instagram, @mbhsssga, or submit a physical copy to Mr. Shindel in room 168. MCKINLEY: Math Honors Society and Blair Math Team are hosting Fibonacci Day next week Tuesday, November 22nd in front of the Media Center during lunch. There will be fun hands-on activities, art stations, food, prizes, and more! All are welcome to stop by. Come and check out the festivities with them!  See you there!
NOLAN: On Monday, sophomore class council will be hosting a bake sale during lunch and after 9th period! There will be lots of delicious treats, a great way to finish off the half day. Payment will be accepted in cash, venmo, or paypal. We’ll see you there!

GWEN: Hey Blazers! The winter temperatures are in full swing this weekend. On Friday, your weather for the third round of playoffs will be a high of 46 and a low of 26, and it will be mostly sunny. On Saturday, it will be a high of 44 and a low of 28. Sunday will be a high of 39 and a low of 22. Stay warm this weekend, and we’ll see you next week!
