| SKYE: And I’m Skye. Last Tuesday, MCPS teachers rallied outside of the Board of Education building in Rockville, protesting what they say are unlawful delays on their contract negotiations. The Montgomery County Education Association, a teacher’s union associated with the protestors, also announced they would file an unfair labor practice charge against the school board. The dispute has blocked discussions over an upcoming three-year contract that would help determine teacher salaries and benefits. |
| ANDREA: The UK’s recently appointed Prime Minister Liz Truss resigned yesterday, October 20th, after serving only 44 days in office. Her resignation comes after weeks of financial turmoil and chaos in the UK caused in part by Truss’ new economic plan. As of Thursday, it is unsure who will replace her as the next Prime Minister. |

| ANDREA: Seniors, please listen for an important announcement. Portraits makeups will be held the last week of October/beginning of November, so plan accordingly. On the day of your scheduled senior portrait, a yearbook volunteer will escort you from your class to the Auditorium, where portraits will be taken. Posters of dates and times are hanging on Blair Boulevard. This is your last chance to have a senior portrait in the yearbook if you have not yet taken your picture! We are unable to accommodate schedule change requests. If you have any questions or issues with your date or need more information, please go to room 168. |
