MIREYA: Welcome back to Infoflow, Blazers. Today is Tuesday, MAy 3rd. I’m MIREYA
SIENA: And I’m SIENA. Jessica Watkins has become the first Black woman astronaut to be part of a crew aboard the international space station. The crew will stay at the space station for six months with Watkins serving as a mission specialist. 
MIREYA: The FDA has proposed a rule to ban menthol and flavored cigars within the next year. This has been an issue that the FDA has been considering for more than a decade, and the desire to pursue rulemaking on the topic now is cited as concern for the toll of menthol on Black and young people.
SIENA: And now, let’s go to Declan for a check up on our seniors as the year is ending!

MIREYA: Blazers, as you know “Hi Bye” is our new narrative series that you can find on BNC’s Youtube and instagram. This series is about two girls who exchange letters in their school anonymously. So far, we’ve seen our main character, Amber, write the first letter and hide it in her school. We’ve also seen Jane, a girl Amber dislikes in real life, find the letter and write back. Episode three will be up this Friday, and a new episode is posted every Friday, so make sure to keep up with the show!
SIENA: If you’re interested in promoting your club here on infoflow in English or Spanish, you’ve got options! Go to the BNC submission form linked to our website at least 3 days before you want it aired and choose 1 of 3 options. You can write an announcement for us to read, film a short video or work with our packs team to have a video spot, or you can come into the studio to appear on the show yourself!
MIREYA: What is it? A Horticulture Plant Sale!When? It is Thursday, May 5th and Friday May 6th during lunch and after school. The plant sale will be on the greenhouse patio (near room 210) during lunch, and the  Colesville parking lot after school until 3:30pm for the community. Come support the hard work of the Horticulture students, Grab a gift for Mother’s Day, or start your own veggie Garden! They have flowers, native plants, veggies and herbs! Prices range from $1-7 and it is cash only.
