| MIREYA: And I’m Mireya. The developer Charger ventures has backed away from it’s 51 million deal with the Montgomery County Housing Opportunities Commision. The deal included the land that Moses Cemetery is on where an estimated 200 African Americans are buried. This decision comes after a judge has ruled the deal to be halted until after a hearing. |
| MARISA: On Tuesday the Montgomery County Council voiced support for changes in a new redistricting map. The new county council map increases the number of districts from one to five and the recent changes would keep the Kemp Mill community whole. The Council hopes to vote on the new map on December 7th. |
| MIREYA: Expert advisors to the FDA recommended the authorization of the first pill used to treat COVID-19. This pill would prevent high-risk people from developing a serious case of covid, however it was authorized with a close and divided vote; those who voted in favor of it acknowledged that once other options become available, the drug wouldn’t be the first choice, as it isn’t as effective as previously thought. |
