SAMMI: Welcome back, Blazers, today is Tuesday, September 28th. I’m Sammi.
LEVI: and I’m Levi. Pfizer Covid-19 booster shots can now be officially administered to adults who qualify in the United States. CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky diverged from the company advisers to recommend booster shots for more people, those ages 18 to 64 who are at increased risk of Covid-19 because of their workplaces or institutional settings. In addition to older adults, long-term care facility residents and some people with underlying health conditions
SAMMI: The tropical storm Sam is now strong enough to be classified as a Hurricane and is going to continue to intensify. This will be the seventh hurricaine of the 2021 Atlantic season with wind speeds reaching 75 miles an hour. It is forecasted to become a major hurricane, category 3 or higher.
LEVI: The AFI Silver theatre in downtown Silver Spring started their annual Latin American Film Festival last Thursday. The Festival lasts three weeks, and shows 49 films with entries from 22 countries. The festival opens with the screening of “A Cop Movie” a feature length film from Mexico. Head down to AFI for some good films and a good time!

LEVI: Students Demand Action, or SDA, is a student-led organization created to prevent gun violence. SDA works to influence local policy, make schools safer, and raise awareness. SAMMI: The Montgomery Blair wrestling team is having a mandatory information meeting on Today at the start of Lunch [11:00] in the wrestling room. Anyone interested in trying out for the wrestling team this season must attend.  No prior experience is necessary, newcomers are welcome! They will discuss how to get registered, the season schedule, and how they’ll become state champs this year. 
LEVI: The “We The East Ethiopian/Eritrean Club” is holding its first meeting in room 332 on today during lunch. They hope you come join them!
SAMMI: 9th and 10th graders, PACERS will have its first meeting today from 11-11:30 in room 122. If you are interested in learning about college readiness and how to prepare to go to college, PACERS is for you.
