SODA: Good Morning, Blazers. Today is Wednesday, January 11th, 2017.
SEBASTIEN: We’ve got another positive show for you today, but first, please stand for the pledge.

SODA: Welcome to Infoflow! I’m SODA,
SEBASTIEN: And I’m Sebastien. The weather for today is mostly cloudy with a balmy high of 50 degrees. There’s a slight chance of rain in the afternoon.
SODA: In the news, the first major obstacle for Trump’s transition team began on Tuesday, with the first confirmation hearing for Jeff Sessions, Trump’s nomination for the Attorney General position. Sessions is not expected to be voted in, as the majority GOP has spoken out against his nomination.
SEBASTIEN: Hey Juniors! Go to Room 250 during 6th period lunch this Wednesday for a Student Council meeting. We will be talking about fundraising, volunteering, and more. Come out to support the class of 2018, all juniors are welcome.
SODA: Speaking of student government, are you interested in running for Student Member of the Board? If you are, come to the SGA office, room 161, for more information during 5th or 6th period.
SEBASTIEN: Blazers, non-violent civil disobedience is a form of protest that has been used in civil rights movements across the world. The Blair Interracial Dialogue team will be hosting a training session on nonviolent civil disobedience this Thursday, the 12th, from 2:30 to 4:30 in the media center. In order to attend the training session, you can pick up a permission slip outside the social studies office–Room 146 or outside the satellite office in room 223.  See or contact Mr. Shindel for more details.
SODA: La Esquina Latina, the Spanish section of Blair is looking for writers for the following school year. If you are currently taking a Spanish for Spanish Speakers level class or Journalism 1 then you should apply.  Applications are available outside room 158. SEBASTIEN: Student parking applications for the Spring semester are now available at the attendance office. Fall parking permits expire on January 27. New permits are required starting on Monday, January 30. Students must bring all new photocopies along with the new application and payment of 37 dollars and fifty cents.
SODA: There will be a theater scene showcase & performance of The Winter’s Tale January 12th and 13th 7:00pm. It will be held in Blair’s auditorium and will be entirely free.
SEBASTIEN: Blair families take a short break from their busy lives to enjoy food, music, and fun with Blair administrators, teachers, and staff at the Blair Community Social. A special performance by the Blair Jazz Combo will highlight the evening! Please be sure to visit BlairPTSA.org to RSVP so that we can make sure to have enough refreshments on hand! The event will be held tomorrow at Firestation 1 Restaurant & Bar in downtown Silver Spring from 7 – 9 PM!
