--Script in English-- Show Intro ESHAN: Good Afternoon, Blazers, and welcome back to Infoflow from home! Today is Thursday, April 18th. I’m ESHAN. ALISON: And I’m ALISON. In local news, Montgomery County has surpassed 68,764 cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday, April 17th. According to the Maryland department of health, just over 25% of Montgomery County’s population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and 42% have received at least the first dose. ESHAN: Happy first day of 4th quarter Blazers! There’s about 40 days of school left, and only 29 for our seniors. Let’s end the school year off on a good note, keep up with those assignments! ALISON: Police reform has picked up since the George Floyd protests this summer. Joining in the movement, Maryland has repealed its Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights which provided workplace protections for police officers accused of misconduct. Maryland was the first state to adopt this bill, and is now the first to remove it. Country singer Mickey Guyton took the stage along with Keith Urban. She shows off some DMV pride, as she is from Arlington! ESHAN: Phase 2.1 the back to school plan is beginning this week, with registered 9th and 11th graders returning to in-person school. 10th and 12th graders will return next week.
