VIVIAN: And I’m VIVIAN. In local news, Montgomery County has reached 28,388 cases of COVID-19 and 862 deaths as of  Tuesday, November 10th.

VIVIAN: Now let’s go to Eleanor for an awesome opportunity coming up on the 18th.
ELEANOR: Thanks Vivian! Blair Amnesty is hosting a virtual   Write for Rights event on Wednesday, November 18, and any Blair student or teacher can participate. Write for Rights is a worldwide event that different human rights chapters take part in, where people get together (this year, through zoom), and talk about pressing human rights cases around the world. They write letters and/or emails to people in power in different countries demanding justice for those whose rights are violated. Sample letters and a summary of each focus case will be provided, and for anyone that doesn't have stationary (paper, envelope, stamp), emails can be written to demand action as well. If you are looking to make real change, save people’s lives, and hold governments accountable, join Write for Rights.

AMINA: Wow, that sounds like a really conscious and empowering event! I might have to drop by!
VIVIAN: JSA, or Junior State of America, is a non-partisan club for students that want to learn about political topics that affect our world. At their club, we will host casual discussions and mock debates, and participate in local events! If you are interested, make sure to follow their instagram account at @jsa.mbhs! They will also be hosting an interest meeting on Monday, November 30th.

Escribe por los Derechos es un evento mundial en el que participan diferentes capítulos de derechos humanos, donde las personas se reúnen (este año, a través de zoom) y hablan sobre casos urgentes de derechos humanos en todo el mundo.
