In local news, Montgomery County has reached 23,293 cases of COVID-19 and 812 deaths as of Tuesday, October 6th, with a three day average of 71 new cases. NOLAN : In local news, Montgomery County officials are looking to lift lockdown restrictions for sports tournaments, theaters and hockey. Dr. Earl Stoddard, executive director of the county’s Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security said that meetings are currently being held concerning the possible re-opening. SKYE: In Blair news, The Spanish Honor Society is accepting applications for membership for the 2020/2021 school year from now until November 6. NOLAN: The vice president debate took place on Wednesday between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris, who is the first Black and South Asian woman to be chosen as a major party candidate’s running mate. SKYE: Many tense and important issues were debated, including climate change and President Trump’s handling of his time in office, but something entirely unexpected stole the show- a fly. The fly that sat on Pence’s head for two minutes sparked many jokes on social media and even some questions about his health. The Biden campaign has begun selling fly swatters as part of their campaign merchandise. NOLAN: That’s all for today’s show!
