| ADEN: And I’m ADEN. For today’s Hispanic Heritage fact, Hispanic Heritage Month began in 1968 when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed a bill creating Hispanic Heritage Week. In 1987, President Ronald Reagan expanded the week into the month that we observe today. |
| SILVAN: New York has sued former President Trump, his business, and three of his children for fraud. The state claims that the family had violated multiple state laws, including insurance fraud, issuing false financial statements, and falsifying business records. The state’s Attorney General, Letitia James, has announced that she plans to refer a similar lawsuit to the federal government. |
| ADEN: Ukraine has pushed Russian troops out of the city of Kharkiv, continuing their advance to reclaim their territory. Russia’s invasion had stalled over the summer after a quick early advance. Ukrainian troops have been advancing into the east over the last month, retaking territory taken by Russia early in the war. |
