| ADEN: Welcome back to Infoflow, Blazers. Today is Thursday, September 22nd. I’m ADEN. |
| SILVAN: And I’m SILVAN. For today’s Hispanic Heritage Fact, Sonia Sotomayor is the first Hispanic person to serve on the Supreme Court. Sotomayor, born to Puerto Rican parents, was nominated to the court by President Obama in 2009 and has been serving ever since. Talk about justice! |
| ADEN: The DC City Council has approved a bill to create the Office of Migrant Services, allowing mayor Muriel Bowser to spend $10 million to create the office. The office is intended to provide services to immigrants coming to the city, including temporary housing, transportation, provide meals, and address medical needs. |
| SILVAN: And now to medical needs on a more somber note. Hurricane Fiona continues to devastate the Caribbean as it moves north towards Bermuda. The hurricane, now a category 3, made landfall in the Dominican Republic on Monday after leaving most of Puerto Rico without power. FEMA has approved emergency aid for the island as they begin the recovery from the disaster. |
