InfoFlow Episode 7.154 – 5/24/22
[Infoflow intro] + [pledge of allegiance]
SAM: Welcome back to Infoflow, Blazers. Today is Tuesday, May 24th. I’m SAM.
JACK: And I’m JACK. This past Saturday, MCPS held its fourth annual Pride Town Hall in Walter Johnson High School. The event focused on discussing topics such as how to incorporate LGBTQ history in school curricula and creating an inclusive school environment. Activist Gavin Grimm, who had earlier served as the plaintiff in a landmark lawsuit over bathroom access in a Virginian school district, spoke at the meeting about the importance of standing up for yourself and expressed hope about how more schools have begun to address LGBTQ issues.
SAM: President Biden has said that he did not believe a quarantine to contain the spread of monkeypox would be necessary, saying there are sufficient doses of the smallpox vaccine, which is effective against monkeypox, available. The WHO has identified monkeypox cases in at least a dozen countries in which the illness is not endemic.
