BELLA: And I’m Bella. According to the D.C city administrator, 419 of the 475 applications for religious exemption from the covid-19 vaccine come from people working in the fire department and EMS. D.C. has ordered that all licensed health care workers, including firefighters, must get at least one dose of the vaccine by September 30th, or risk losing their licenses and their jobs. |
SIENA: On Monday, the Montgomery County Board of elections approved two new early voting sites, one in White Oak and one in North Potomac. A third site could also be opened, if the board reaches an agreement with the County Council and the County Executive. Local boards must submit a plan by late november outlining proposed early voting locations, which they will approve or deny by December 28th. |
BELLA: The family of Patricia O’Neill, a longtime member of the Montgomery County school board, urges people to contributeå to the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation. O’Neill was first elected in 1998 and served all the way up to her death last week, at age 71. According to the school board’s handbook, the remaining members will choose a “qualified individual to fill the vacancy” who will serve the remainder of O’Neill’s term. |
