SODA: And I’m Soda. Today’s weather will be partly cloudy with a high of 54 and a low of 43. Stay warm out there, Blazers!
TRUNK: In the news, Volkwagon’s 14.7 billion dollar settlement with regulators and owners of diesel vehicles was accepted yesterday. This deal came after revelations last fall that certain VW diesel cars were emitting 40 times the legal amount allowed of emissions allowed. The company will begin to buy back these vehicles in Mid – November.
SODA: Need SSL hours? Help distribute food to those who need assistance! A new program called Arleeta’s Choice Pantry will be starting at Four Corners Mission and Outreach Center, located directly across from Blair High School at 33 University Blvd E. The program takes place Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. A mandatory orientation meeting for students will be held November 10 from 2:45 pm – 3:45 pm at the Four Corners Mission and Outreach Center. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Hiscock in room 130 for more information.
TRUNK: Come to Young Democrats in room 164 today, Wednesday October 26th ! They will be hosting Delegate David Moon, who will be talking about his experiences as a Maryland State Legislator. Also, snacks!
SODA: Winter sports begin on November 15th, and the swim and dive team needs new members! If you’re interested, please attend one of the preseason meetings on Thursday, October 27th during both lunches.  Get your lunch and head over to room 262 at 11:30am or 12:20pm. See Ms. Zarou if you have questions.
TRUNK: Are you a literary GOD, like the members of our scriptwriting team? Do you want to share your passion for English with others? If so, pick up an application to join Montgomery Blair’s National English Honor Society! Applications are now available outside of the CAP office and are due November 4th. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Fillman or Niki Patel at mbhsnehs@gmail.com.
SODA: If you’re interested in trying out for Softball, you should attend an informational meeting to be held on Wednesday, October 26 at 3:25 in room 117. Important information about tryouts, winter conditioning, and winter clinics will be discussed.  If you can’t make it, see Mr. Hoelman in the Boy’s PE office to learn more.
TRUNK: Juniors and seniors, are you still looking for colleges to apply to? Do you have burning questions for college admission reps? If so, take advantage of a FREE field trip to a college fair, sponsored by the Hispanic College Fair Incorporation. This fair will take place on November 3rd. Permission forms are in the Career Center. Don’t miss out on this free opportunity!
SODA: The No Labels Club is dedicated towards the acceptance of all people regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, and other minority statuses.
