SEBASTIEN: And I’m SEBASTIEN. In recent news, legendary rock musician Tom Petty, the icon behind Free Fallin’, died yesterday of cardiac arrest. He died peacefully, surrounded by friends and family.
CARLOS: Are you a junior or senior in need of SSL hours? Middle schools are getting ready for Outdoor Education and they are looking for volunteers! If you would like to volunteer at Outdoor Education then please attend an information meeting after school on Wednesday, October 4th in room 246. You can also stop by room 246 and ask to speak with Mrs. Sanchez for more information.
SEBASTIEN: Do you write, draw, or make original music? Do you have a burning desire to be published? Fear not! Silver Quill, Blair’s own literary magazine, is now accepting submissions all through first semester! Send your work to silverquillmag@gmail.com. Are you more of an editor than a producer? Be a part of the team, they meet Tuesdays after ninth in room 141. Can’t wait till then? Start preparing you act for the upcoming Blair Open Mic, taking place October 27 during both lunches.

SEBASTIEN: Wanna read interesting books? Meet cool people? Try new food? If so, join Asian Lit Club! This month they will be reading The Refugees by Viet Thanh Nguyen, a collection of short stories about Vietnamese refugees exploring questions of immigration, identity, love, and family. Read one story, or read them all! They will be discussing the book on Thursday, October 26th, after 9th period. Email asianlitclub@gmail.com for more details. See you there!
CARLOS: Hey Upperclassmen! Interested in being the MC for this upcoming Pep-Rally? Come sign up outside of the room 161 for a chance to audition and see if you have what it takes. The last day to sign up is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 4th, don’t be MC-SCARED!
SEBASTIEN: Attention students planning to present their Capstone projects at the Fall Capstone Showcase on Monday, October 9! If you have not received a pass from Ms. Blaha for parent and teacher signatures, please see her in room 342 as soon as possible. Forms are due by Friday, October 6.
