GUY: And I’m GUY. In the news, Kilauea volcano has erupted near a residential area on Hawaii’s biggest island. There is an emergency alert and an emergency evacuation for 1,700 residents.
SERENA: To start, the Academies would like to recognize Sophia Falvey for her outstanding performance as an Academy Ambassador. Her 20 hours of service were invaluable in representing Blair High School’s Academy Program to students and the Blair community. Thank you, Sophia!
GUY: Students who are interested in auditioning for Blair’s Symphonic Band or Wind Ensemble should set up an audition time with Mr. Oldham. Audition week will be Monday May 14th through Friday May 18th. For more information, visit www.mbhsmusic.com/auditions.
SERENA: Did you participate in the walkout on March 14th or the March for Our Lives on the 24th? Have you been following the gun control movement across the country? Are you interested in getting involved in getting involved in student activism in your area? Do you want to have conversations with your peers about pressing issues like gun control? Do you want to learn what artivism is? If you answered yes to any of these questions, come to the first ever Blair Chapter meeting of Montgomery County Students for Gun Control! We will be meeting in room 152 during both lunches today! See you there!

SERENA: The Blair boys JV basketball team will hold their annual summer league tryouts on May 17th and 18th from 5-7pm in the gymnasium. All incoming 9th and 10th grade student athletes trying out must show proof of a current physical in order to tryout. Please see Coach Charles or Coach Pigrom in the boys PE office for details and questions.
