TRUNK: Hi Blazers! Today is superhero day, Monday, October 17th, 2016. |
IYANU: We’ve got a super show for you today, but first, please stand for the pledge. |
Pledge of Allegiance |
TRUNK: Welcome to Infoflow. I’m Cap’n Trunk, not to be confused with Cap’n Crunch, here to save the universe with my inquisitive arch. |
IYANU: And I’m the one, the only, the Phantom Iyanu, taking names and flowing the info. Today’s weather will be partly cloudy with a high of 74, a low of 57 and 80% humidity! Whew! |
TRUNK: In the news, President Obama has lifted restrictions on U.S. travellers to Cuba, who are now allowed to bring Cuban Rum and Cigars back into the U.S. This comes as the United States continues to try to improve its economic and political relationship with Cuba. |
IYANU: Are you interested in being the student member of the Maryland State Board? If so, please come to the SGA office during your lunch period and ask for Alix Swann. Nomination forms are due at the end of October, so act quickly! |
TRUNK: Please remember to bring a calculator on Wednesday, October 19th for our annual College Readiness Day! You can bring either a graphing or scientific calculator! |
IYANU: The ESOL Leadership Club will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, October 19, after school in room 152. All interested ESOL levels 4, 5 and R-E-L-Ls can attend! We will be discussing homecoming hallway decorations, so you don’t want to miss this meeting! |
TRUNK: Are you ready to get into the Halloween spiiiiiirit? Silver Chips will be selling Halloween Candy Grams on Blair Boulevard all of this week during 5th and 6th period. Send them to your friends, favorite teachers, or even a Halloween crush! Candy Grams will be distributed on Halloween day, so if you’re looking for some spooky candy, stop by the table and fill out a candy gram today! |
IYANU: Do you like poetry, prose, theater, or studies of speech? Join the Forensics Club, also known as the Public Speech Club! We meet every Wednesday, Room 133 from 3:20-4:20. Our goal is to make everyone more comfortable with public speech and performance. All skill levels are welcome, and they have food every meeting. I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty foren-SICK to me! |
TRUNK: Attention all people craving something out of the ordinary! Here is your opportunity to enjoy adventures in nature with some amazing people. Outdoor Adventure Club is starting up again. If you are interested the meetings are on Mondays during 9th period in room 164, or contact Camille Torfs-Leibman at camilletl98@gmail.com if you can’t make it. Adventure is out there! |
