KENIA: In the news, there’s been a change in Trump’s presidential transition team, as New Jersey governor Chris Christie, once a likely pick for a cabinet member, has been demoted to a lower position. It has recently been discovered that Christie once prosecuted one of Trump’s relatives for tax evasion, which may have inspired the demotion. |
JESSICA: There will be a mandatory BLISS meeting today during both lunches. Go to conference room A in the media center during your lunch period. If you have any questions or concerns, email mbhs.bliss@gmail.com. |
KENIA: Are you interested in learning more about a career at teaching? Attend a field trip to the University of Maryland on Friday, December 2nd. You will get a tour of the campus, and meet with faculty and staff at the College of Education, to learn what their program has to offer. See Mrs. Jacobs Ivey in Room 142 for details and permission slips. First come, first served with the availability. |
JESSICA: Any student interested in participating in the U.S. Biology Olympiad should register and add their name to the Blair roster at www.cee.org. The contest is open to all students with any level of biology experience. The open exam will be administered at Blair in early February. Please see Ms. Bosse in room 373 if you have questions about the competition. |
KENIA: Come to the stadium on Friday November 18th during both lunches to buy pizza! Slices are 1.50 each, and drinks will be available for sale as well. |
JESSICA: Attention all students interested in playing baseball for Blair this Spring! There will be an important meeting Thursday, November 17 at 3:30 in room 227. Please plan to attend this meeting. |
KENIA: In the U.S, 3.5 million people experience homelessness each year. And every year, each shelter has a shortage of feminine products that could benefit the lives of so many people. Regardless of your gender, the DoSomething club needs your help. they are beginning the drive called Power to the Period, where they collect unopened packages of feminine products which will be donated to a local homeless shelter here in Silver Spring. Look out for their designated boxes on the first floor that anyone can drop their packages in. These products can be of any size, color and brand. This drive will be from November 14 to December 16 so there will be time to help out in anyway you can. Email dosomething.blair@gmail.com for more information. |
