| SEBASTIEN: And I’m Sebastien. In the news, En Marche’s Emmanuel Macron and the National Front’s Marine Le Pen beat out numerous other candidates in the polls to advance past the initial round of voting in the french election. The next and final round of voting will take place on May 7th. |
| JESSICA: Go make signs for the upcoming Climate March in room 331 during both lunches tomorrow. March on over to learn about and help prepare for the event. |
| SEBASTIEN: The Arc Montgomery County’s Annual Duck Festival will be on April 29th from 12-4 pm at number 1 Veterans Plaza, Downtown Silver Spring. They are looking for volunteers to help with stage management, merchandise, or games and arts & crafts. | JESSICA: The Spring Capstone Showcase is taking place this Thursday, April 27th during 5th and 6th period in the Media Center. Head on out to see the awesome projects your peers have completed for their various academies. |
| SEBASTIEN: The Bob Long Journalism Award, created in honor of former News 4 director and Blair student, is open to all Montgomery Blair seniors. Create a short video individually or with a partner to be considered for the award. Visit the BNC website for details. Submissions are due by May 5th. |
| JESSICA: Auditions for Playset Theatre’s Cinderella in the Park will be held during 9th after school today in Room 2. Sign up outside room 16 in the drama hallway or use the QR codes around the school! |
| SEBASTIEN: Get hyped for After Prom! After Prom will be Sunday May 14 from midnight until 4:00 am. The event is open to all juniors and seniors. Bring a picture ID and arrive before 1:30 am to be admitted. There will be food, fun, casino games, laser tag, and tons of awesome prizes. |
| JESSICA: Blazers, you only have four days left to buy your yearbook. Check out Blair Boulevard today at lunch to see how many times you’re in this year’s edition! |
| SEBASTIEN: This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. On Friday during 5th and 6th lunch, there will be an MHAW dialogue. Head on out and share your ideas about staying positive and low-stress. Also on Friday, go and hang out with your friends after school at 5pm in the media center to see the movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Tickets cost $2. There will also be concessions so bring extra money. |
| JESSICA: The Blair Varsity Poms Coach will be hosting an informational meeting tomorrow from 3:30pm to 4pm in Room 117 for those interested in auditioning for the 2017-2018 Varsity Team. |
| SEBASTIEN: AAUW Gaithersburg sponsors an annual Book Sale to raise money for scholarships and programs for women and girls. The sale is at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg. They’re looking for student volunteers from today until April 30th to sort and categorize books. They especially need help this Saturday and Sunday.
