| NOLAN: and I’m NOLAN. During the recent storm, an apartment complex was flooded, displacing 150 residents and causing the death of 1 man. 3 people and 1 firefighter were hospitalized for minor injuries and there is still 1 person missing. |
| SKYE: This Sunday was the DC Sports hall of fame induction ceremony.. Montgomery County was well represented, with several athletes including Mike Barrowman, an olympic-gold medal swimmer and graduate of Winston Churchill High school, Paul Rabil, a legendary lacrosse player from Gaithersburg, and John Feinstein, an award winning sports writer and longtime resident of Potomac. Each of them received a plaque commemorating their induction, and will have their names added to the hall of fame display at Nationals Park. |
| NOLAN: When Montgomery county schools opened after the 18 month closure, many students noticed that their buses came up to an hour late. The county is still struggling to hire bus drivers, as there is a large shortage. Expect your buses to be a little more crowded until the problem is solved, blazers. |
| SKYE: The Montgomery county shared streets program has been extended to at least November 28th. The program closes designated streets to vehicular traffic in order to give bikers, diners, and pedestrians safe spaces during the pandemic. These spaces, which include the Bethesda Streetery and the Silver Spring Streetdine, have been very popular in the community, with County Executive Mark Elrich saying they were good for businesses, public health, and people who want to dine outside. |
