In local news, Montgomery County has surpassed 63,395 cases of COVID-19 as of Tuesday, March 2nd. According to the Maryland department of health, just over 7% of Montgomery County’s population has been vaccinated against COVID-19, and 14% have received at least the first dose. ALISON: Montgomery County has seen a rise in pop up, delivery-only restaurants. In an effort to combat the pandemic, local food services have adapted this business model to fit the “new reality.” Pop up services allow the restaurants to maintain a steady flow of revenue, even during the pandemic. So next time you’re hungry, check to see if your local shops deliver. ESHAN: Silver Quill, Blair's literary arts magazine, is still printing this year and they want you to submit all the short stories, poems, drawings, paintings, pieces of music, and whatever else you want to be printed! All you have to do is send your submission to the email below silverquillmag@gmail.com. They’re closing submissions on Monday, March 15th, so please be sure to submit everything as soon as possible! ALISON: Silver Chips is hosting a restaurant fundraiser month this March in support of the newspaper. Due to COVID, they've moved onto a completely online fundraiser format.
