SODA: And I’m SODA. In the news North and South Korea are taking steps towards peace in the Inter-Korean summit and have agreed to end the Korean war.
KENIA: Attention all students looking for summer volunteer opportunities! You should consider applying to be a mentor with Branch Out!, a non-profit organization that aims to promote science, technology engineering, art, and mathematics education among underprivileged youth throughout the DC metropolitan area. It’s a great way to work with kids and gain leadership and teaching experience, all while earning ssl hours! More information can be found at www.velbranchout.org.
SODA: Planning a promposal? We love them too, but they need to be planned so stairs or hallways are not blocked and no one slips on rose petals. See Ms. Fus to plan your perfect promposal.
KENIA: Blazers don’t forget to buy your yearbooks! Pick up an order form today outside of room 241. Order now before they run out! Order forms can be turned into Ms. Fuss.
SODA: Juniors and Seniors: Prom tickets are on sale at the attendance office from today through May 11. Tickets are $60.00 each. If you are bringing a guest, please pick up a guest form outside of the attendance office. Please bring the guest form with you when you come to purchase tickets. All obligations must be paid.
KENIA: Speaking of prom… Attention Juniors and Seniors. After Prom is coming on May 13th starting at Midnight until 4am! Doors close at 1:30 a.m. Come through the Colesville Road entrance. You do not have to attend Prom to come to After Prom. And it’s FREE! You have to bring a picture ID, your school ID is preferred. No cans, bottles, backups, etc. We will check your stuff at the door. Enjoy Laser Tag, Mechanical Bull, Blackjack, Caricature Artists, Hypnotist, Volleyball, Blackjack, Casino, DJ, Food, and Prizes galore! Get all your friends together for a night of fun!
SODA: Blair Scholars, The W.E.B. DuBois Honor Society is accepting applications for membership. If you have a 3.0 weighted grade point average, have demonstrated leadership in academic, athletic, or social organizations, and are interested in serving your school and local community, you should consider applying! Application materials can be picked up from Dr. Howard in the Counseling Office. All materials must be submitted to his attention in the Counseling Office by Friday, May 4, 2018. Contact Dr.Howard if you have any questions or concerns.
