SHESH: And I’m SHESH. In the news, 2 hundred million eggs have been recalled after nearly two dozen were sickened salmonella.
SERENA: Do you want to participate in the Spring pep rally games? If so, you can sign up using a google form that can be found on SGA’s twitter account @Blair_SGA. The form will also be sent out to your school email address.
SHESH: Hey Seniors! Need some senior wear to show off that Blazer Class of 2018 pride before the year ends? Go to https://blairseniorapparel2018.itemorder.com/sale to order some senior wear now. Invite your friends to get some wear too so we can meet the 12 person minimum for each order. Deadline to order is on Wednesday, April 25th so don’t miss out!
SERENA: Want to donate blood? There’s a blood drive is coming up on May 3rd. To sign up, go to the SGA office or sign up on Blair BLVD during 5th and 6th lunch. You must be 16 years old and get your parents signature.
SHESH: Blazers, if you will be 18 by November 6, you are eligible to vote in the Maryland primaries this June! One of the most important races you’ll cast your ballot for is Montgomery County Council At-Large, where over thirty candidates are running to help lead our area. The Blair Young Democrats are hosting a forum on Wednesday, April 18 where you can meet the Democratic candidates right here in Blair’s media center. Be an informed voter and come check it out!
SERENA: Prom tickets will be on sale from April 30 through May 11 during lunch at the attendance office. Tickets are $60.00. If you are planning on bringing a guest, please pick up a guest form outside of the the attendance office. Remember, All obligations must be cleared.
SHESH: And speaking of Prom…Seniors! Ballots for prom king and queen are now available outside of the attendance office. The first 10 completed ballots will be accepted. The deadline is May 1.
SERENA: Seniors, are you interested in playing for PowderPuff and beating the juniors this year? Attend the informational meeting tomorrow during both lunches in Portable 2, they need female players, male cheerleaders and football players as coaches so invite your friends to come out!
SHESH: To the students who are interested in the trip to Peru next year there are limited spots left and the deadline to sign up is Friday April 20. For further information please contact Ms Jampolsky in room 153 of the ESOL department.
SERENA: Green Club is collecting donations for the World Wide Life Fund outside the SAC from today until the 20th. Please donate and come support Earth day. Help save animals!
SHESH: Students- Looking for scholarship money? Enjoy discussing issues of culture and diversity? Consider applying for The “Blair Pair” Scholarship. This scholarship is intended to encourage students of different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds to converse and write an essay on how they plan to use their college experience and education to move race and diversity conversations forward. Visit the Career Center for more information.
SERENA: Since the tragic shooting in a Florida high school in February and the student protests spurred by it, school security has been a persistent topic of discussion. Come to the PTSA General Meeting, to discuss MCPS school security procedures with Principal Johnson and Blair staff and understand how parents and students can support a positive school environment. The meeting is tomorrow at 7:00 PM in the Media Center. Parents, students, and staff are welcome.
SHESH: Blazers, Pirates of Penzance is coming up and you don’t want to miss it! It’s an action packed show full of music and excitement. Performances are at 7 pm on April 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th. And 2 pm on April 22. Tickets are 7 dollars for students and 10 dollars for adults. Don’t miss out!
