SHESH: And I’m SHESH. In the news, Blair Baseball crushed BCC this week! The girls won on Tuesday and the boys won on Wednesday! BCCya later! By the way, congrats Sebastien!
SEBASTIEN: Thanks, Shesh, it was a great team effort! Seniors, all SSL forms must be turned in today! You can turn SSL forms into the main office or in room 246. Any questions regarding SSL hours or forms, please see Mrs. Sanchez in room 246. Once you get those in, you can SSL-ebrate passing high school!
SHESH: Need SSL Hours? Here’s an opportunity! YMCA Silver Spring Healthy Kids Day is looking for volunteers. Join the Y on Saturday, April 21st from 10:30 to 1:30. There will be dancing, karate, aquatics, and more. To volunteer contact ryan.taylor@ymcadc.org or see Mrs. Sanchez in room 246.
SEBASTIEN: Join Women’s Advocacy Club! It meets every other Friday during 6th lunch in room 136. Email mbhswomensadvocacy@gmail.com for more information. Come to the next meeting today for discussion on gender roles. There will be snacks provided!
SHESH: Silver Spring Nursery School is looking for students to volunteer at Truck Touch. Students would help out from 9:30 – 2:30 on Saturday May 5th. Volunteers would help with set up and clean up and then during the event we have some fun roles to fill- arts and crafts, face painting, games, food tables, etc. Students should email or text Elizabeth Sauler to sign up- 202-380-5718 or saulerssns@yahoo.com
SEBASTIEN: Attention seniors — If you received a letter about the Language Proficiency Test, remember the deadline to register is today. The test will be given on Tuesday April 10 in the auditorium. See Ms. Galloway in room 170 if you have any questions.
SHESH: Would you like to earn $1000 for college expenses? Do you like discussing issues of diversity, equity, and justice? If so, you should apply for the Blair Pair scholarship. Check in with Dr. Howard or the Career Center for more information and learn how to win the Blair Pair scholarship! An apple a day will keep Dr. Howard away, but a Blair PEAR is even better!
SEBASTIEN: There will be a Non-School sponsored trip to Peru for Blair students this summer. It will be towards the end of June 2019 for 9 days. If you are interested there will be a parent/student meeting on April 10th at 6:30 PM in Room 152. For further information, please contact Ms. Jampolsky in Room 153 of the ESOL Department. If you wanna peruse Peru, just go get approved.
SHESH: Hey Blazers! This coming Tuesday, April 10th, there will be a marching band fundraiser. You can buy pizza, empanadas and refreshments. It will be sold at the Football and Basketball concession stands! To support the marching band, visit the concession stand!
SEBASTIEN: Do you want to run for class president? Applications are due on April 17th. Turn them into the SGA office to Alix, the SGA President, or to Mr. Zick in portable two. There will be a mandatory meeting on the 18th for all applicants. There will also be a town hall held the following week for students to ask questions.
