EMMETT: Welcome to Infoflow, my name is EMMETT.
CARLOS: And I’m CARLOS. In the news, a large majority of Australians voted in favor of same sex marriage in a historic survey. The vote was not binding, but is paving the way towards this reform.
EMMETT: Do you identify as Black and/or Jewish? Are you currently in eleventh grade? Do you want to learn in depth about the Civil rights movement and current events that affect the Black and Jewish communities? If your answer is yes, then you should apply for Operation Understanding DC’s Class 24. The application and program are free, and it is an amazing opportunity to meet students in the DMV who are just as passionate as you are. Go to http://oudc.org/apply/ to apply. CARLOS: LULAC is selling Thanksgiving candy grams for $1.50 during both lunches in front of the SAC. The proceeds will go to Puerto Rico to help people that were affected by the hurricane. Show someone you’re thankful and help out those in need!
EMMETT: Are you interested in girl’s lacrosse? There will be a JV and Varsity girls lacrosse meeting on Monday, November 20th during both lunches, after 8th, and after 9th in room 265. The meeting is for all new and returning players. Please see Mr. Horne in the English office or Ms. Lusby in the Math office if you have any questions.
CARLOS: The Students 4 Service Club will having a pasta dinner in the SAC on Tuesday November 28th. Participants will receive a plate of pasta, salad and side of bread! Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. All proceeds go to support the Puerto Rican Hurricane Relief efforts!
EMMETT: Hey Blazers remember to donate to the Blair food drive going to Martha’s Table. Be sure to give your non-perishables to your first period teachers, cash donations are also accepted.
