IYANU: Hey there, Blazers. Today is Wednesday, February 1st, 2017. We’re already a month into 2017.
TRUNK: We’ve got a great show for you today, but first, please stand for the pledge.

IYANU: And I’m Iyanu. The weather for today will be cloudy with a high of 46 and a low of 33.
TRUNK: In the news, a 25-pound bobcat by the name of Ollie is still missing from the National Zoo. Zoo officials say that nobody is in imminent danger from a bobcat attack, because they aren’t known to be aggressive towards humans. However, if you come into contact with Ollie, keep your distance, treat her like a wild animal, and call the proper authorities.
IYANU: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA’)s Open House is on Saturday, February 11th from 8:30am – 4:30am. All high school students are invited to earn SSL hours for their volunteer efforts and do not even have to travel too far! Check out this awesome event and sign up at the link below.

TRUNK: Who doesn’t like earning SSL hours and FREE food? The Minority Scholars Program is holding a leadership retreat on Saturday, February 25th at Northwood High School. Students will be able to learn more about themselves and gain invaluable leadership skills. To reserve your spot today, please sign up with Ms. Bruno in 153 or Mr. Smith in 253. Let’s make sure that Montgomery Blair is well represented!
IYANU: Go check out the February Montgomery County Regional General Assembly! It will be held on Wednesday, February 8, at Thomas S. Wootton High School. We are happy to have Wootton host for the first time in decades! Go to the SGA office (room 161) for a permission slip,

IYANU: Hey Blazers, are you looking for SSL hours or a great resume builder? Sligo Creek and New Hampshire Estates Elementary Schools are looking for positive male role models to read and play sports with elementary school boys after school. Mentoring starts on Wednesday and/or Thursdays in February and Extends until April. If you’re interested in participating, see Ms. Zarou in room 262 to sign up.
