| KENIA: In the news, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani is Donald Trump’s current top choice for Secretary of State. Giuliani has not participated formally in politics since his 2008 presidential bid but has supported the president elect since the beginning of Trump’s campaign. |
| JESSICA: Attention anyone who needs SSL hours! The 34th annual Turkey Chase, sponsored by the YMCA of Bethesda Chevy Chase and the B-CC Rotary Club, is looking for volunteers! | KENIA: Want to rake in even more SSL hours? Volunteer at Sports Plus, a non-profit organization that offers co-ed sports and social programs for kids 5 to 14 who have mild to moderate autistic spectrum disorders. Sports Plus volunteers assist coaches with activities, help with set-up and clean-up, and most of all, provide encouragement to their young athletes. Expertise in a particular sport is NOT required, but enthusiasm is! More details about Sports Plus are available on www.playsportsplus.org. Interested? | JESSICA: Any student interested in participating in the U.S. Biology Olympiad should register and add their name to the Blair roster at www.cee.org. The contest is open to all students with any level of biology experience. The open exam will be administered at Blair in early February. Please see Ms. Bosse in room 373 if you have questions about the competition. |
| KENIA: Come to the stadium on Friday November 18th during both lunches to buy pizza! Slices are 1.50 each, and drinks will be available for sale as well. |
| JESSICA: Attention all students interested in playing baseball for Blair this Spring! There will be an important meeting Thursday, November 17 at 3:30 in room 227. Please plan to attend this meeting. |
| KENIA: In the U.S, 3.5 million people experience homelessness each year. And every year, each shelter has a shortage of feminine products that could benefit the lives of many people. Regardless of your gender, the DoSomething club needs your help. they are beginning the drive called Power to the Period, where they collect unopened packages of feminine products which will be donated to a local homeless shelter here in Silver Spring. Look out for their designated boxes on the first floor that anyone can drop their packages in. These products can be of any size, color and brand. This drive will be from November 14 to December 16 so there will be time to help out in anyway you can. Email dosomething.blair@gmail.com for more information. |
| JESSICA: Interested in student government? Come to Blair Congress today after school! A new amendment to the constitution is going to be discussed, so if you want to make a change in your school, this is the meeting for you! |
| KENIA: Are you interested in learning more about a career at teaching? Attend a field trip to the University of Maryland on Friday, December 2nd. You will get a tour of the campus, and meet with faculty and staff at the College of Education, to learn what their program has to offer.
