CATHERINE: And I’m CATHERINE. In the news, after 42 years of believing that the Jackson’s climbing salamander was extinct, a forest guard spotted one in a reserve in Guatemala!
KENIA: Do you go to Blair? Do you have talent? Good, because Blair’s Got Talent is looking for people to perform at the Electric Maid on December 8th! Email Blairs.Got.Talent@gmail.com or stop by room 352 during sixth lunch if you’re interested! Everyone is welcome!
CATHERINE: Are you interested in girl’s lacrosse? There will be a girls lacrosse meeting today during both lunches and after school in room 263. The meeting is for new and returning players. Please see Mr. Horne in the English office or Ms. Lusby in the Math office if you have any questions.
KENIA: Do you like to dance and learn about new cultures? If so, come and get a taste of treasures that make Africa so special! Come auditions for Bantu Dancers! Get a tryout form in room 160! The deadline is November 24th! See you then!
CATHERINE: Hey Blazers remember to donate to the Blair food drive going to Martha’s Table. Be sure to give your non-perishables to your first period teachers, cash donations are also accepted.
KENIA: A new club has been started by students to play one of the greatest games of all time, Dungeons and Dragons! Come play the game that inspired everything from League, to Warcraft, to Skyrim, to Magic. Be limited only by your imagination. D&D Club meets Wednesdays and Fridays after school in room 315! New players, veterans, and Dungeon Masters alike are welcome!
CATHERINE: Silver Chips is having a silent auction at Lincoln’s BBQ in downtown silver spring on December 4th. They are looking for people to contact them with connections they can use to get item donations for the auction. Contact Brenna at silverchips.business@gmail.com with any possible contributions or questions.
KENIA: Hey Blazers, want SSL hours? The Silver Spring Library is looking for Blair Students who are interested in working on Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm, helping elementary and middle school students with math and reading homework help. If you’re interested in volunteering, see Ms. Lamphier in the media center or contact Ms. Lauren Martino at lauren.martino@montgomerycountymd.gov.
