CATHERINE: And I’m CATHERINE. Today in the news World’s Largest Food Companies are agreeing to Labeling Aimed at Cutting Food Waste!

CATHERINE:  What are young people of Latin descent experiencing right now? What are the stereotypes about Asian people? How do muslim kids feel in their communities? Do people of color or LGBTQ kids feel heard?

SAM: The Asian Literature Club will be meeting on Thursday, September 28th in room 157 after 7th period. Join them to plan out what books to read this year! Snacks will probably be provided. Email asianlitclub@gmail.com for more details!
CATHERINE: Are you always watching Law & Order? Do you enjoy arguing? Have you ever been in any legal trouble? If so, join Mock Trial! Their interest meeting will be help on Wednesday, 9/27, after ninth period in room 274!
SAM: Hey Seniors! If you missed your senior picture date, but still hope to be SEEIN-YOUR pictures, yearbook will be holding retakes on October 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th in the auditorium throughout the day. This includes anyone in the class of 2018, even if you’re officially listed as a junior or a sophomore. If you just want to take your yearbook photo, it is FREE. For those of you who want the full package, you can pay online or you can pay later.
CATHERINE: Time to put your NSL expertise to use! Registering to vote is easy and one of the most effective ways to make a change. You become eligible to vote once turning sixteen in Takoma Park or eighteen elsewhere. Online registration is open until October 18th. Visit the Maryland State Board of Elections website to register online, or go in person up through election day. Take control of your future and exercise your right to vote!
SAM: Attention Blazers have you ever wanted to try a Blair Milkshake? I know I have, every gosh darn day of my life. If you’re like me, and you need to try it, go buy a Blair Milkshake at Lincolns BBQ from today through October 19th. Be careful though, I’ve heard the Blair milkshakes bring all the Blazers to the yard.
CATHERINE: Blazers, join MBHS Young Republicans to discuss hot political topics every Tuesday at 3:20 in room 164. They encourage open-minded discussion, and would love to have every and all opinions discussed.
SAM: Attention all Juniors! Go buy your Junior Wear today after school in room 250. Shirts are 15 dollars and the hoodies are 25 dollars. If you want to see them, go to their Instagram or Twitter (IG: Mbhs19 T: @Mbhs2k18) profile to check them out. Also come to the Junior meetings in room 250 after school on Wednesday’s talk about Hallway decorations!! JU-N-YOUR friends should get involved!
CATHERINE: Do you like art, literature, and graphic design? You should join Silver Quill, Blair’s literary arts magazine! They meet on Tuesdays after 9th period, starting tomorrow. There QUILL be snacks!
SAM: Hey Blazers! Let’s honor the Hispanic Heritage through History and Art. Students and staff, enjoy the giant reproductions during the week of September 25th through the 29th, including one of the most famous of his paintings, called Guernica. The exhibit celebrates art, Spanish language, history and culture!  Teachers, make your reservations and bring your students to visit the different stations that are waiting for all.
