SHESH: And I’m Shesh. Are you interested in what happens in other parts of the world? Do you want to get involved in learning about global issues like climate change, human rights, and sustainable living? Have you lived in another country or do speak another language? If so, join Students for Global Responsibility, sponsored by Ms. Blaha! The first meeting is today in Room 332 at 2:45.
SODA: Do you love going to the zoo? Would you like to make a difference in saving animals from extinction? Join Advocates for Biodiversity Conservation: ABC! The first meeting is today in Room 332 at 2:45.
SHESH: Are you passionate about Blazer athletics? Do you follow all of Blair’s sports news? If so, you may be interested in running SilverScore and the Blair Athletics twitter. SODA: On that note, this friday we have a home football game against Wheaton at 6:30! Dress in tropical wear for the tropical theme! You might even get a free lei!
SHESH: Do you like public speaking? Are you terrified of public speaking? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then Blair’s Forensics, or Public Speaking club is for you! Forensics meets on Wednesdays at 3:30 in room 133. Come join us for snacks, scripts, and spectacular speeches!
SODA: Do you want to build a robot? Do you like building, making videos, taking pictures, or reaching out to the community? Check out the Robotics Club! The first meeting is tomorrow, September 14th in room 361 after school at 3:30 pm. No previous experience is required!
SODA: Completed free and reduced lunch forms should be turned in to the main office or the attendance office. In addition to free or reduced lunch this status provides other fee waivers. If you had free lunch last year, you need to re-apply no later than September 30. Blank forms are available in the main office
SHESH: Do you want SSL hours? Would you like to help your fellow Blazers improve academically? If you are a junior or senior, sign up to be a BLISS Online Tutor! SODA: Attention All Blazers! If you are looking for someone to have lunch with, we have just what you need. Pick up your phone and download the “SitWithUs” app. Using this app, you can make new friends and never have to eat lunch alone again. Join us for our first event at lunch on Friday.
SHESH: Do you love to sing? Are you a Soprano, Bass, Tenor, or Beatboxer? Are you free on Sunday afternoons? Then come audition for InToneNation, Blair’s student run acapella group! They are holding auditions in room 5 during both lunches all next week!
SODA: The activity fair is around the corner on September 27th! If you want to showcase your club to other Blair students, this is the perfect opportunity! Make sure you get in contact with Mr. Funk by tomorrow about club contracts and reserving a table for the fair!
SHESH: Are you interested in being a part of Junior Council? If so, come to their meetings every Wednesday during and after 9th period in room 250. They’re launching new junior wear soon, so make sure you’re on the lookout. I bet jou-n-your friends would love to cop some new gear!
SODA: And if you’re interested in the No Labels club, it is in room 138 after 9th every Thursday. The club provides a safe space to share your views and ideas on anything. Go take a look!
