IYANU: Good morning, Blazers! Today is Friday, June 9th, 2017.
SODA: We’ve got a blazing show for you today, but first, please stand for the pledge.

SODA: Welcome to Infoflow! My name is Soda.
IYANU: And I’m Iyanu. In the news, former FBI director James Comey testified yesterday before the Senate Intelligence Committee. He first testified publicly, and then testified behind closed doors. The testimony comes as the Intelligence Committee tries to clarify mixed reports regarding the FBI’s investigation into campaign ties with Russia.
SODA: Strange Adventures Music Festival is an annual festival aimed at showcasing musical talent from the Maryland and D.C. area. This year’s event will be today and tomorrow at St. Stephen’s Church on 16th street. Go catch Cool Baby, Swan Song, Djembe Jones, 800, Small dad, Mike of Doom, and a bunch of other dope acts.
IYANU: The 2017 Sankofa performance is now available on DVD for the low, low price of $10. You can purchase your copy by going to bnconline.net and clicking on the store tab at the top of the page, or you can swing by the TV studio, room 102, and pick up a copy in person.
SODA: The Spanish Honor Society is seeking applicants for the 2017-2018 school year. If you have at least a 3.5 GPA in your Spanish classes, and a 3.0 GPA overall, and will be at least a junior in Fall 2017 (and beginning at least Spanish 5) at that time), you are eligible to apply. Please obtain application forms in room 170 and see Ms. Araujo if you have any questions. The Spanish Honor Society is a great organization which undertakes charitable activities and hosts parties celebrating Hispanic culture.
IYANU: The Science National Honors Society application is actually due today. If you are a rising junior or senior and would like to join, hurry up and get your application in to Ms Hart or Mr. Haigh in room 341!
SODA: Attention students, ALL SSL hours MUST be turned into the main office or room 130 drop box by today to be logged for this school year. Again, the deadline for all second semester SSL hour forms is today. Don’t delay and be sure to turn in your forms today! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Hiscock in room 130.
IYANU: Hey Blazers! The next Montgomery County Women’s Caucus meeting is Monday, June 12th, from 6-8 PM at the Carver Educational Services Center. Don’t worry men, you are invited too! Please go out to have your voice be heard on issues you care about.
SODA: Any Blazers interested in coming out for the cross country team should come to the interest meeting on Tuesday, June 13th at 3:25 P.M. in room 256. Any interested students that cannot attend should see Mr. Zick in classroom 256, or the social studies office in room 146.
IYANU: Do you love to sing and dance? Go try out for Blair’s sensational SHOW CHOIR!  You need to attend one of the following dance workshops in room 16; during lunch today, or after school on Monday or Tuesday, June 12th or 13th. Go to www.mbhsmusic.com or see Ms. H-C for details.
SODA: Hey blazers! Yearbook is holding a car wash at the four corners shell gas station from 10-2 on Saturday, June tenth. This is a fundraising opportunity for yearbook, and the payment will be donation only. Please come out and support your yearbook-making blazers!
