KENIA: Hello Blazers! Today is Thursday, May 11th, 2017. Only two days left until prom, so pick up your tickets today!
SODA: We’ve got a stunning show for you today, but first, please stand for the pledge

SODA: Welcome to Infoflow! My name is Soda.
KENIA: And I’m Kenia. In the news, President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey yesterday. Sources point to Comey’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email scandal as a potential reason for the firing.
SODA: Today’s weather will be rainy with a high of 59 and a low of 49.
KENIA: There will be the Human Geo, Microeconomics, European History, and Latin AP tests tomorrow. It’s the last day of AP testing, so let’s go out on a high note.
SODA: Get hyped for After Prom! After Prom will be Sunday May 14 from midnight until 4:00 am. The event is open to all juniors and seniors. Bring a student ID and arrive before 1:30 am to be admitted. There will be food, fun, casino games, laser tag, and tons of awesome prizes.
KENIA: The Boys JV basketball team will be holding tryouts for their annual summer league. Tryout dates are May 15th through 17th at 5 pm in the Gymnasium. This tryout is for current 8th and 9th graders.  Please see Coach Charles in the P.E. office with questions.
SODA: The Spring Theater Showcase One Acts will be today and tomorrow 7pm in the Blair auditorium. Admission is free, so there’s absolutely no reason not to go.
KENIA: Are you interested in social justice? If so, go to the 1st Planning Meeting of the 2017-2018 Women’s Caucus on Tuesday, May 16, from 6:00-8:00 PM. It will be in the Carver Educational Services Center Cafeteria. The goal of the meeting is to create a countywide organization to unite school groups and student leaders working towards the advancement of all women and girls. SODA: Next week is Blair spirit week. The themes are Maryland Monday, Twin Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and of course, Red out day on Friday. Everyone show out and show off your school spirit.
KENIA: The Fine Arts Festival will be next week from May 16th to May 19th. There will be an Orchestra concert at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, an Art Show and Choral plus Guitar Concert in the auxiliary gym and auditorium at 7:00 on Wednesday and the Jazz and Band concert at 6:30 p.m on Thursday. The Art Show will be up all day Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, so teachers, plan to bring your classes down and check out the amazing Blair-created artwork. Don’t forget to vote for the #Blazer choice award, and next year’s plan book cover.  
SODA: The Student Government Association is accepting applications for next school year. If you’re looking to be in the 5th period leadership class, pick up an application outside of the SGA office, room 161, today. Applications are due May 17.
KENIA: The Bob Long Journalism Award, created in honor of former News4 director and Blair student Bob Long, is open to all Blazers. Create a short video individually or in a group of two to be considered for a cash award. To find more information about the scholarship, visit bnconline.net.
SODA: Silver Quill is hosting its last open mic on Friday, May 26th during both lunch periods. If you’ve got something you’d like to perform, sign up sheets can be found outside room 141.
KENIA: Every year, more than 100 volunteers work together to make the AFI Documentary Film Festival Washington DC’s premier filmmaking event. Volunteers are needed to assist in all areas of the festival, from working at the box office and ushering at screenings to providing key social media and photography support.
