SODA: Welcome to Infoflow! My name is Soda.
TRUNK: And I’m Trunk. In the news, a verdict has been reached in a lawsuit against Johnson and Johnson claiming that their baby powder causes cancer. Louis Slemp of Virginia was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and she attributes the cause of the cancer to her use of Johnson and Johnson baby powder every day for over forty years. The company must pay 110.5 million dollars to Slemp in reparations. $197 million dollars have already been given in cases with similar circumstances.
SODA: There will be the Calculus, French Language, and Spanish Literature AP tests tomorrow. Wake up early and eat a big breakfast to prepare for those exams.
TRUNK: Attention all boys interested in playing boys soccer in the fall: a very important meeting with the new coach will take place today at 3:30pm in room 245. Meet the coach and get all of the necessary information. The meeting will last 30 minutes.
SODA: Get hyped for After Prom! After Prom will be Sunday May 14 from midnight until 4:00 am. The event is open to all juniors and seniors. Bring a student ID and arrive before 1:30 am to be admitted. There will be food, fun, casino games, laser tag, and tons of awesome prizes.
TRUNK: Any interested freshmen, sophomores, and juniors should consider applying for the SGA. Pick up a form outside of Room 161. Deadline for applications are Friday, May 12th. Turn in applications during either lunch period.
SODA: The KID Museum Apprenticeship Program is currently recruiting students for the fall session. Apprentice applicants should possess a love of learning and a desire to engage with the public. Students can earn Student Service Learning hours and be eligible for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. The deadline for applications is August 1st for the fall session. TRUNK: Looking for a great spring gift or a mother’s day present?  Go to Blair’s annual spring plant sale today, tomorrow, and Wednesday. It will take place during both lunches and after school in the greenhouse. There will be veggies, herbs, flowers, and beautiful mixed pots at the best prices in town. The ceramics class will also be selling custom-made wall-hanger planters. See Ms. Levien with any questions.
SODA: Interested in politics? Wanna hear more about the importance of gender equality in our government? On Wednesday May 10th, go hear Councilmember Nancy Floreen speak during 5th lunch in room 164 and during 6th lunch in room 157. Head on out to celebrate the importance of equal representation in government.
TRUNK: Montgomery Blair’s Gay Straight Alliance will be hosting a screening of the movie Game Face. There will be snacks, popcorn, and refreshments along with a discussion at the end of the movie. The screening will take place in room 134 from 2:30-4:00 pm
SODA: The STEM Academy has a new partnership with the FDA and can now offer 15 internships this summer from June 26th-June 30th.  If you are interested please see Mr. Haigh in Room 342 before the May 19th deadline to apply.
