SEBASTIEN: Welcome back to Infoflow! I’m Sebastien.
KENIA: And I’m Kenia, the weather for today will be cloudy with a high of 53 and a low of 35.
SEBASTIEN: In the news, Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan reported that it experienced a record number of emergency room patients this weekend in the aftermath of St. Patrick’s day. Friday’s holiday celebrated Irish cultural heritage, and resulted in numerous alcohol-related injuries.
KENIA: Blazers, interested in STEM related programs? The KID Museum Apprenticeship Program is currently recruiting students for both the summer and fall sessions. The program is modeled on successful mentor and explainer interactions in world-renowned science centers across the country. Apprentices will work directly with the lead artists and makers as well as the museum’s creative director and program managers to help deliver successful programming. Students can earn Student Service Learning hours and be eligible for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. The deadline for applications is April 14 for the summer session and August 1 for the fall session. Full details can found by visiting the link down below. www.kid-museum.org/apprentice.
SEBASTIEN: The deadline for Class Council Applications has been extended to tomorrow, March 21. Please go to the SGA office, room 161, for an application if you are interested in being President of Vice President of your class!
KENIA: Head out to Mama Lucia’s in downtown Silver Spring on Thursday, March 23rd from 4-10pm to help support with the Junior Class Fundraiser. Dine in or carry out! 20% of the proceeds will be going towards the junior class!
SEBASTIEN: All Blair parents and students are invited to the 2017 Annual Mental Health Awareness Night tomorrow from 7pm-9pm in the media center. Mental health is an important subject for everyone to learn more about, and speakers from the National Alliance on Mental Health will be presenting on the impact of mental health on youth. Yale University Alum Adrienne Lo will also be presenting on mental health as it relates to immigrant communities. Go to the media center tomorrow from 7pm-9pm to learn more about mental health as it pertains to you.
